Kicking a soccer ball hard and far?

I have been playing soccer since i was six. I am in highschool now and i find my kick is lacking in strength and power.
I have the leg muscles to produce a power-shot (I run crosscountry, and track. Not to mention i also do archery, gymnastics and diving.), but when i kick it it just doesnt “go.”

I am a 14 year old keeper and I used to suck real bad at goal kicks, like so bad I could barely kick 20 yards, so one day I was practicing and I noticed that I kept looking up to see where the ball was gonna go before before I had actually struck the the ball, so I tried to kick it while staring at it and I did not look up until I could not see the ball anymore (pretty much like you would do in golf). Once I kicked it, I was amazed at how far it went, like 45 yards! Give that a try, see if it works, and kick it with the top of your foot.
